Candidates
Being a candidate is a unique position. What ever the ward or constituency you are in, there are a particular set of stresses and emotions that go with it being your name on the ballot paper.
Its also a role that can differ a lot in different areas. In some cases, you may be the figurehead of the campaign as well as trying to run all aspects of the campaign. This will not be the case in areas with a campaign manager and agent who are separate to you as the candidate. In this situation, where there is a lot going on around the candidate which they are not directly involved in, it can be difficult to find your place in the structure or feel that you are doing your bit. Some of the articles in this section will look at the role of a candidate and what you can do to make sure that you are doing exactly what is needed from you and giving your team the best chance of helping you to win.
