This year’s Small Business Saturday is coming up on Saturday 30 November 2024.
Small Business Saturday has been running in the UK for over 10 years now and has become a major event. During some years over £1 billion has been spent in small, local shops on this day alone.

This is an opportunity to promote local independent businesses and encourage residents to shop local during the busiest shopping period of the year in the run up to Christmas.
Small businesses have faced an unprecedented set of challenges over the past few years with Brexit, Covid and the economic crisis. Furthermore many businesses are reporting a large increase in the amount of crime and anti-social behaviour they experience. Shopfitting rates have risen by 25% over the past year.
Now is the time to be speaking to small businesses in your area about these challenges – learning from their experiences and seeing how you can support them as a local Lib Dem councillor or campaigner. Visiting businesses in your ward and distributing a small business survey is a brilliant way to do this.
We have updated our resources to you support Small Business Saturday this year.
