Local authorities in England have received funding during winter 2021/22 to recruit and retain Adult Social Care workers.
All funding must be allocated before 31 March 2022. The Lib Dems want to make sure that this funding goes directly to carers – to boost pay, provide bonuses, and cover childcare costs – rather than get lost on administration and red tape.
You can find out indicative totals of how much funding your Council received here – you will need to check with your Council to ensure this tallies with the final allocation granted.
ALDC has produced some campaign materials and an advice sheet to help you call for the Worker Recruitment and Retention Fund for Adult Social Care to be spent on much deserved pay boost for carers.
You can download a briefing on the issue, that includes advice on how to investigate how the funding has been allocated within your Council, here.
