We are currently looking to recruit one or more members of the ALDC Management Committee, following a vacancy on the Committee.
ALDC’s Management Committee is elected every two years by members. It consists of 19 members, from around the country. It is responsible for setting the strategy of the organisation, setting the budget, employing staff and ensuring that ALDC complies with all relevant laws and regulations.
The Committee meets four times a year. At the moment this is two physical meetings and two Zoom meetings. Most Committee members are also a member of one or more sub-committees. These meet once a quarter by Zoom. The current membership of the Committee, and Sub-Committees, is here.
We are looking to co-opt one or more Ordinary Members, to serve until the next set of elections in Autumn 2022 (i.e. for one year). If possible, we would ask you to attend the next meeting of the Committee which is on Sunday 28 November 2022 in Staffordshire.
Any member of ALDC can apply to be co-opted, but the Committee would be more representative if we co-opted members who:
- Live in the North East, North West, Devon and Cornwall or South East Liberal Democrat regions in England (where we currently have no members).
- People who have particular expertise or enthusiasm about local government and party policy issues.
- People who have particular skills around governance issues (e.g. finances or risk management)
If you are interested please email our Chief Executive, Tim Pickstone at tim.pickstone@aldc.org before Friday 4 November 2021.
