This year’s Great British Spring Clean, where people come together to help clear up the litter that blights our communities, takes place on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 March.
Some councils are supporting local volunteers in this cause, hosted by the charity Keep Britain Tidy, to help pick up the litter in our towns, cities, countryside and beaches. You can find out more and see if there is a Spring Clean near you by looking up your local events. You can also watch this video which explains more.
With concern around waste and dumped plastic, high on the political agenda it can be a good issue for local Lib Dem campaigners and councillors to be supporting and a good local story!
