Liberal Democrats now have two extra council leaders:
- At Hart District Council in Hampshire, the newly formed administration is made up of eight Lib Dems, 10 Community Campaign Hart and one Independent working together; with 14 Conservatives in opposition.
- While we were already part of the administration at Cornwall Council, we have now taken over the council’s leadership from the Independents. Liberal Democrats have 37 seats, with 30 Independents. The Conservatives have 46 seats, Labour have five and Mebyon Kernow four.
This means 14 councils are now led by Liberal Democrats, and we have the deputy leadership in a further five authorities.
