Summary
The LGA is the national voice of local government which seeks to support, promote and improve councils across England and Wales.
We are a politically-led organisation and are looking for a political assistant to work in our Liberal Democrat Group Office. You will work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, advising and supporting Liberal Democrat councillors, working on a daily basis with councillors, Peers, MPs and other senior politicians on a range of issues of importance to local government.
Based in the LGA’s offices in the heart of Westminster, you will have experience of working in a political environment, and an understanding of local government, public policy work and parliamentary procedures. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and a very high degree of political sensitivity. You should be able to work at your own initiative, at the same time as being a team player within a key sector trade body
