Winning in Wealden! A great gain from the Tories

Two results of interest last night, including the 13th Liberal Democrat Gain in local by-elections since May 8th.

Wealden, Hellingly

Well done to David White and the Wealden team, who gained Hellingly ward in a by-election triggered by a Conservative resignation. David becomes the 23rd new Liberal Democrat councillor to take a seat on a local authority since the general election. Full Result.

Brentwood, Shenfield

Sadly, we can’t have it all our way and yesterday’s gain from the Tories was balanced by a loss in the other direction over in Brentwood. Still only the third Liberal Democrat loss since the election, but commiserations nevertheless to Alison Fulcher and the Brentwood team. Full Result.
