A message from Cllr Richard Kemp, on his new role on the Community Wellbeing Board at the LGA:
Dear Colleagues,
You may have seen that from 1st September I will be taking over as the Lib Dem Deputy Chair of the LGA’s Community Wellbeing Board.
I am delighted to be doing this because I feel that this area is one where there are both the greatest financial and other pressures but also the greatest opportunities for us to express our liberalism.
I can be contacted at:
07885 626913
My colleague on the Board is Cllr Doreen Huddart who can be contacted at dorhud@btinternet.com .
The Lib Dem substiute on the Board is Clly Lucy Nethsingha who can be contacted at nethsingha@btinternet.com. Lucy intends to play a full part in our discussions as a member of the Group.
We want to work together as a team not only within the LGA but within the wider group of those councillors and Parliamentarians who have a specific responsibility in the Health and Social care fields.
For those of you who will be able to come to the ADASS conference in October I will be holding a group meeting that Rob Banks will arrange. I know that many of you will be unable to attend so I hope to keep in touch with you through other means.
Obviously my position will give the opportunity, at least to a small extent, to raise the Lib Dem flag at a variety of conferences and gatherings. I will do my job better if you keep me in touch with your thoughts, challenges, solutions and activities. I can then tell not a Liverpool Lib Dem story but a national Lib Dem story.
I look forward to working with you.
Best wishes,
Cllr Richard Kemp CBE
David Warren says
I have had care responsibility for an elderly person for a number of years now.
This has meant dealing with all aspects of Health and Social care.
As a Lib Dem activist I want to be involved in policy and campaigns.
