The British Council of Shopping Centres have published a report on the future of town and city centres in the UK.
‘Beyond Retail’ examines the impact of changing consumer behaviour and looks at the potential for towns and city centres to drive local and regional economies through shared public spaces with an emphasis on leisure, culture, business and civic activity.
The report also highlights Lib Dem-run Stockport MBC as a case-study in developing a sustainable, long-term strategy to build a vibrant and responsive centre.
The report can be downloaded from the BCSC website (name and email required for free registration).
