We will be posting the summary of Thursday’s results when we have the information. Below, you will see an ‘at-a-glance’ guide to the change in councillor numbers (by authority-type), and two ‘In Detail’ tables of new council compositions/control and change in cllr number by authority.
NOTE: It is virtually impossible to find two election results services that tally precisely. This is because there are different ways of treating the notional ‘holder’ of each seat on election day when there have been by-elections or defections in the preceding cycle. Whilst every outlet’s results should be generally consistent, some small variation in the seat numbers and cllr changes should be expected.
At-a-glance
Please note: The at-a-glance figures will only be correct when the full compositions of each county council are known (below)
In Detail: Council Compositions
In Detail: Change in Cllr Numbers
Note: This table subtracts the new compositions from the old to establish the change in seats. Councils with local government boundary changes will display negative (or positive) total figures reflecting the new ward/division structures.
