ALDC’s Action Day for County and Unitary authorities takes place on Saturday 23rd March. Across the country, councillors, candidates and activists will be knocking on doors, manning street stalls and getting signatures on petitions!
With less than six weeks to go until the election, it will be a vital boost to our campaigning momentum in some key areas. Liberal Democrats without elections in their own patches should do whatever they can to help somewhere nearby – this is a favour that can always be repaid when the mets and other unitaries come back up in 2014!
There are also options for helping remotely, for campaigners too far away to realistically make it to an event. There are Virtual Phone Banks available via Connect that will allow anyone in the country to make calls on behalf of a local campaign team of your choice.
Below is a list of Action Day events (with VPB codes where they exist) and contact details. Please do make arrangements to get out there this Saturday – every bit of help could make all the difference in these key local elections.
If you would like to register details of an action day in your area, please email details (meeting time & place, contact name & number, and planned activities) to craig.whittall@aldc.org.
Please note that this Day of Action is designed specifically to boost our 2013 election campaigns and we are only promoting action days in places with 2013 county/unitary elections.

Meet in the Bulkeley Car Park (pronounced Buckley!) in the centre of Menai Bridge at 10.30am and 2.30pm. If you can stay for the whole day that would be great and there are some good cafes in where you can have something to eat after the first delivery session. The campaign is going well. The first election leaflet in Aethwy (the new Menai Bridge ward) and Twrcelyn (Aled Morris Jones’s ward) has been delivered and the candidates are currently knocking on doors with a calling leaflet. During the Action Day you will be delivering the second election leaflet.
Directions – From the A55 take the first exit immediately after crossing the Britannia Bridge then immediately take the right hand lane and turn right into Menai Bridge along the A5 Holyhead Road. At the first roundabout take the second exit before the Shell Garage into Dale Street. Follow the road into town until you come to a T junction. The Bulkeley Pub is opposite and you need to go across the road and enter the car park alongside the left hand side of the pub. For those with sat nav the pub’s postcode is LL59 5DF
