The LGA Lib Dems are re-assuring people that the Children and Young People’s conference will still go ahead tomorrow (6th Feb) and Saturday in Nottingham, despite the snow! The venue have confirmed this morning that they are open, although they have told us that due to the weather they are unable to provide transport from Nottingham station, so delegates will need to get a cab if coming by train.
The journey takes about 10 minutes or so. There is a taxi rank at the station itself but should you want to pre-book a cab, two local cab firms are: DG cars – 0115 9607 607 or try Cab line 0115 922 5226. Cab firms have confirmed to us on the phone that they are able to negotiate the roads OK, although of course everyone should take care when travelling in wintry conditions and allow a bit more time to reach the venue.
As mentioned before, the accommodation is in the same building as the conference venue so there are no worries about negotiating icy pavements to get back to your room. No snow is forecast in Nottingham tomorrow. We look forward to welcoming you to Nottingham. In addition to the packed agenda, I for one am looking forward to the food, which has always been great whatever the weather!
