Councils throughout the UK are being advised by Cllr Richard Kemp, Leader of the Local Government Association Liberal Democrat Group to urgently review the services bought from companies providing information and advice on investment.
Cllr Kemp said that all councils want or need is an information service than they are paying through the nose for the service at present. He will be asking the LGA and CIPFA later this week to consider the establishment of a financial and investment information service which could be provided to councils at a fraction of the cost that they are paying now and which would be more useful”.
