2012 Results - Compositions & Control

This section of ALDC's 2012 Local Elections Results Service tracks the new political compositions and overall councillor numbers for each council with elections on May 3rd. 

Councils with their names highlighted in red are having 'all-out' elections after boundary changes and will resume their normal electoral cycles from 2014.

2012 Election Results - Mayoral Votes & Referendums

In addition to the London Mayoral election, there are two elections for directly-elected mayors and ten referendums on the creation of elected mayors taking place on May 3rd.

This section of ALDC's 2012 Local Elections Results Service tracks the outcome of each contested seat on the night. In England, most of these amount to one-third of the total number of council seats, although a number of District Councils elect by halves.  In Scotland and Wales, the elections were 'all outs'.

Who's Up in 2012

Campaign template artwork

ALDC has commissioned this set of templates for use by Liberal Democrat campaigners. These are exclusively available to members of ALDC.  This is in addition to the other templates, campaign toolkits, briefings and best practice available on the ALDC website.

Artwork Pack 1 - includes single issue and candidate canvass leaflet, A4 Focus and various surveys surveys

Artwork Pack 2 - includes 'candidate chosen' leaflet, cascade petition and members newsletter

Nomination papers including candidate consent to nomination and agent notification forms (MS Word) - ward specific nomination papers will be available from your council
Certificate of Authorisation / Delegated Nominating Officer (DNO) form (PDF) - ALDC recommends you use this version rather than the one supplied by your council

Scottish Nomination Papers

Nomination papers including agent notification form and incorporating the candidate consent to nomination (MS Word) - ward specific nomination papers will be available from your council.  Remember that in Scotland you only need a witness and not the signatures of ten electors.
